Police are appealing to the public for help in locating Richard Rodrigues, a 29-year-old man who has been missing from Peckham since 13 September. Richard is non-verbal and communicates using sign language. He was last seen in the Camberwell Road area of SE5 on 16 September.
Richard is known to use public transport and has connections to several areas across London. Officers are working closely with transport authorities in the hope of locating him.
Detective Inspector Jay Navaratnarajah, from the Met’s Public Protection Department, expressed the family’s growing concern, stating, “Richard’s family are understandably worried, and the longer he remains missing, the more the concern grows for his welfare. We have pursued numerous lines of enquiry and are in regular contact with our partners across the transport network.”
There is hope that Richard may have attempted to make phone contact using a messaging service in the early hours of 20 September. The police have urged Richard, if it was him, to either get in touch or visit a police station to confirm his safety.
Anyone who sees Richard is urged to dial 999 immediately. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the police by calling 101 and quoting reference 01/837718/24.
