Hezbollah Strikes Back After Nasrallah’s Death
Hezbollah has launched its first major rocket attack following the killing of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli airstrike. The Lebanese militant group vows to “continue the holy war against the enemy and in support of Palestine,” pushing the region to the brink of a wider conflict.
Tensions Explode with Attacks Across Israel
Hours after Hezbollah’s rocket assault, a house in Safed, northern Israel, came under fire, signalling coordinated strikes against Israeli targets. Air raid sirens blared in Tel Aviv and central Israel, coinciding with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s arrival at Tel Aviv’s airport.
The Israeli military also intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, further highlighting the conflict’s growing regional reach.
Israel Hits Back with Deadly Airstrike on Beirut
In retaliation, Israel launched an airstrike on the Dahiyeh district of Beirut — the same area where Nasrallah was killed last Thursday. Defense Minister Israel Katz called the killing “one of the most justified counter-terrorism actions Israel has ever taken.”
“Nasrallah was an arch-terrorist who dedicated his life to the destruction of Israel,” Katz said. “He led over 30 years of terror activity against Israel.”
Netanyahu praised the military’s “brilliant planning and execution” and promised further action to protect Israeli security.
World Watches as Middle East Edges Closer to War
The recent violence has sparked fears of a wider regional war. International observers urge restraint amid rising hostilities. Both Israel and Hezbollah remain firmly entrenched, making the coming days critical for the fragile peace in the Middle East.
