Warwickshire Police Investigate Serious Assault in Wishaw

Warwickshire Police are investigating a serious assault that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 5. A man in his 20s was hospitalised with multiple injuries after an attack involving a bottle. The incident reportedly took place inside a vehicle while the victim and another man were travelling to Birmingham.

The victim managed to escape the car at a layby on the A446 London Road, near the junction with Holly Lane, around 4:00 AM BST. He walked for 10-15 minutes across farmland before being discovered on Holly Lane in Wishaw. A passerby found the injured man and called for an ambulance.

Detective Constable Jon Shand from Warwickshire Police CID stated: “We’ve been working hard to identify lines of enquiry to ensure the person responsible for this attack is located.” DC Shand added that the incident is believed to be isolated, with the victim and suspect known to each other, and there is no ongoing threat to the wider public.

Police are currently searching for the vehicle in which the assault occurred — a Toyota C-HR. The vehicle is described as having a distinctive white emblem on the front and is likely to show signs of interior damage due to the struggle.

Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance, particularly those who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident or who saw the victim walking towards Holly Lane. DC Shand added, “We are also keen to identify the car they were travelling in which is likely to show signs of a struggle.

The victim suffered injuries to his body, leg, and hands and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
