Drivers planning to use the Dartford Crossing this weekend should prepare for several overnight closures due to essential maintenance and grillage works. The closures will run from today (Friday, October 11) through to Monday, October 15, impacting both the anticlockwise and northbound tunnels. Diversions will be in place using National Highways roads.
The Dartford Crossing, a vital road link connecting Dartford in Kent with Thurrock in Essex via the A282, will see the following closures:
Friday, October 11 – Saturday, October 12 (11pm – 6am)
- Anticlockwise: A282 Anticlockwise Jct 1A entry slip road closure
- West Tunnel Closure: Grillage works between Jct 1A and M25 Anticlockwise Jct 31
- Diversion: Via National Highways roads
Saturday, October 13 – Sunday, October 14 (9:30pm – 7:30am)
- Southbound: A282 southbound Jct 1A to Jct 2 lane closures, including slip road closures and carriageway closure for waterproofing works
- Diversion: Via Local Authority and National Highways roads
- Northbound: A282 Northbound Dartford Crossing West Tunnel closure for maintenance works (10pm – 5am)
- Diversion: Via National Highways network
Sunday, October 14 – Monday, October 15 (10pm – 5am)
- Northbound: A282 Northbound Dartford Crossing East Tunnel closure for maintenance works
- Diversion: Via National Highways network
