Tragic Death at Slade Green Station After Train Collision
Emergency crews were scrambled to Slade Green Station in Erith this afternoon after a person was hit by a train. The shocking incident happened just after 1:15 pm on October 18.
Paramedics Unable to Save Victim
British Transport Police (BTP) and the London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene. Despite the rapid response from paramedics, the individual was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A BTP spokesperson confirmed: “Officers were called to the line near Erith railway station shortly after 1:15 pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Firefighters Assist at Incident
London Fire Brigade crews from Erith and Bexley fire stations arrived at 1:26 pm. They worked alongside other emergency services to secure the area and ensure the safety of bystanders.
The LFB spokesperson said: “Two fire engines and one Fire Rescue Unit responded to the incident. Firefighters assisted emergency service colleagues and worked to make the scene safe.”
