Seven Men Jailed for Over 102 Years After Shocking Peckham Shootings
Seven men have been slammed with more than a century behind bars over a violent shooting spree in Peckham last May. The gang, caught “retaliating with more violence,” faced justice at the Central Criminal Court on 18 October.
Names and Sentences: Hard-Hitting Justice
The convicted are:
- Tyreke Smikle, 26, 17 years 7 months to serve with a life sentence.
- Kai Davis-Francis, 25, sentenced to 17 years 6 months.
- Duan Correa, 21, handed 16 years.
- Shaquille Marsh, 26, jailed for 14 years 6 months.
- Tyreece Quartey, 25, sentenced to 13 years.
- Malachi David Francis, 21, 14 years 6 months behind bars.
- Timothy Newton, 18, nine years 6 months.
Smikle also faces an indefinite Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), while the others received fixed-term CBOs.
How the Mayhem Unfolded
The Met Police launched a probe after a 7 May stabbing ignited a bloodthirsty chain reaction. Smikle and Newton, outraged by their friend’s attack, armed themselves with a shotgun, machetes, knives, and hit the streets in balaclavas.
CCTV captured them splitting across stolen vehicles, hunting targets across Peckham. Smikle fired a shotgun through car windows, leading a high-speed chase that saw a vehicle flip over. He then shot a victim in the leg at close range.
Miraculously, no one was killed or suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police Speak Out
Detective Constable Luke Martinez said: “This group retaliated to violence with more violence, bringing firearms and weapons to London’s streets that could’ve killed someone. These shootings happened in broad daylight, near a mother and child. Today’s sentencing removes dangerous people from our city and stands as a warning to those who threaten Londoners’ safety.”
Officers recovered the shotgun, Class A drugs, a stab-proof vest, a knife, and burner phones when they arrested Smikle.

The Met continues its fight against gun violence, boasting a record seizure of 386 illegal firearms last year and a significant drop in firearm offences since March 2023.
