Man Charged with Murder and Attempted Murder Following Triple Stabbing in Walworth

A man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after a stabbing incident in Walworth on Sunday, November 10, that left one man dead and two others seriously injured.

Police were called at 10:40 a.m. to East Street, SE17, where they found 77-year-old Hilkiah McLeggan from Southwark fatally injured. Two other men were taken to the hospital, where one remains in critical condition.

Ali Musse, 66, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He is scheduled to appear at Croydon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 12.

Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, head of policing in Southwark, said, “This was a horrific incident where a man has lost his life and two others sustained serious injuries. We understand the concern this incident has caused, and there will be an increased police presence in the Walworth area to reassure local residents and business owners.”

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, leading the investigation, thanked the public for their assistance, urging anyone with information to contact the police.
