Man Charged After Deadly Walworth Stabbing
A terrifying triple stabbing in Walworth has left one man dead and two others fighting for their lives.
Fatal Attack in East Street
Police rushed to East Street, SE17, at 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, November 10. They found 77-year-old Hilkiah McLeggan from Southwark fatally stabbed at the scene. Two other victims were rushed to hospital, with one in critical condition.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Ali Musse, 66, who has no fixed address, was arrested and charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Musse is set to appear at Croydon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 12.
Police React to Violence in Walworth
Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, head of policing in Southwark, called the attack “horrific.”
“This was a horrific incident where a man has lost his life and two others sustained serious injuries. We understand the concern this incident has caused, and there will be an increased police presence in the Walworth area to reassure local residents and business owners.”
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, leading the investigation, urged the public to come forward with any information.
