XL Bully Dog Brawl Sparks Police Arrest After Officer Assault

A 29-year-old man has been taken into custody following a dramatic dog fight involving two XL bullies on Links Avenue. The incident left a dog walker and his pet injured, and ended with the man assaulting three police officers.

Dog Fight Erupts in Broad Daylight

At around 10:45 a.m., residents reported two XL bullies fighting in public. One bully and a border collie cross escaped from a nearby vehicle before attacking another XL bully that was on a lead. The dog walker tried to break up the fight but suffered cuts to his hands. His XL bully also got minor injuries.

Luckily, neither the man nor his dog needed medical attention.

Owner Arrested, Then Turns Violent

Police swiftly seized the loose XL bully and arrested the owner on charges of having dogs dangerously out of control. But the drama didn’t stop there. While being placed in the police van, the suspect allegedly launched an attack on three officers and damaged a police vehicle.

He now faces additional charges for assaulting officers and criminal damage.
