Detectives are scrambling for witnesses and dash cam footage after a deadly smash in Ilford on Saturday, 7 December 2024.
Pedestrian Killed in Horror Collision
Emergency services rushed to Eastern Avenue around 4:10pm following reports that a car smashed into a pedestrian, multiple vehicles, and a building.
Despite heroic efforts by paramedics, the London Air Ambulance crew, and firefighters, a woman in her 60s was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Driver Stops and Cooperates with Police
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. No arrests have been made so far.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
Roads and Transport Policing Command detectives are leading the investigation. They want anyone who saw the crash or captured it on dash cam or CCTV to get in touch.
