Police Appeal for Witnesses After Fatal Collision in Redbridge

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal collision in Ilford on Saturday, 7 December 2024.

Emergency services were called to Eastern Avenue, Ilford, at approximately 4:10 p.m. after reports that a car had collided with a pedestrian, several vehicles, and a building.

Tragic Loss

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, medics from the London Air Ambulance, and the London Fire Brigade, the pedestrian—a woman in her 60s—was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Driver Cooperating

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and has been cooperating with police. They were not arrested.

Investigation Underway

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

They are particularly interested in speaking to witnesses or anyone who captured the incident on dash cam or CCTV.
