Twenty one year jail term for man who sexually abused two girls

A 21-year prison sentence has been imposed on an Ashford man who sexually abused two girls.

David Davies was arrested in 2021 after one of his victims reported non-recent sexual offences to police.

Detectives then carried out an investigation which led to them later speaking to a second victim, who reported similar abuse.

Davies was charged with offences including rape, sexual assault and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

He was convicted of multiple counts following a trial at Canterbury Crown Court and was sentenced on Friday 20 December 2024.

The 46 year old was jailed for 21 years and ordered to serve an extra three years on licence following that term.

He will also be placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely to protect the public following his release.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Holly Hill said: ‘Davies targeted vulnerable girls and manipulated them in an attempt to prevent them from reporting his terrible crimes.

‘I would like to praise the victims’ courage in coming forward and supporting this prosecution. The resulting jail term will protect the public from Davies for a significant amount of time.

‘I urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual offences, whether recently or in the past, to report them to police right away. We will take action to hold abusers like Davies to account.’
