Lorry engulfed in flames outside Dartford supermarket being treated as suspicious

A fire that engulfed a lorry parked in the loading bay of an Aldi supermarket in Dartford is being treated as suspicious, according to emergency services.

Incident Details

The Kent Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze on Suffolk Road at 8:14 p.m. on January 18. Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the flames.

Footage from the scene shows the fire originating in the cargo holder of the HGV, with flames spreading up the side of the vehicle’s canvas.

No Injuries Reported

A spokesperson for the rescue service confirmed:

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a lorry on fire at a loading bay in Suffolk Road, Dartford. Three fire engines attended, and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

“There were no reported injuries, and the cause is being treated as suspicious.”

Investigation Underway

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire, with initial assessments suggesting foul play.
