Ex-Essex Cop Caught Laundering Cash for Sons’ Drug Empire
A former Essex Police officer has been slapped with a suspended sentence after admitting money laundering linked to her sons’ drug dealing racket.
Judy Yuen, 48, was handed a 13-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, at Basildon Crown Court on Thursday, February 6.
Yuen, from Cotman Road, colchester/" title="Colchester" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Colchester, pleaded guilty in July 2024 following a thorough investigation by Essex Police’s Operation Raptor squad, which targets county lines and drug supply crimes.
Mother Dug In Deep Helping Sons Launder Drug Cash
The probe started when detectives put Yuen’s two sons, Tai Parsons (23) and Leo Parsons (19), under surveillance for suspected drug dealing from September 2022.
Officers found large sums moving between Yuen and her sons’ bank accounts from January 2022 through February 2023. Forensic analysis of her phone uncovered messages between Yuen and Tai Parsons discussing financial transactions, confirming suspicions of money laundering.
A specialist financial crime investigator could find no legitimate reason for Yuen’s access to the cash. She was arrested in March 2023 and charged three months later.
Fired for Gross Misconduct – Essex Police Dragged Through the Mud
In November 2023, Yuen was dismissed without notice from Essex Police in a private hearing to protect the ongoing criminal case.
She was found guilty of gross misconduct, marking a stunning fall from grace for the former officer.

Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Nolan ripped into Yuen’s conduct, saying:
“When police officers take their oaths, they commit to serving the public, policing without fear or favour, and tackling crime. The overwhelming majority of officers live and breathe their promise every single day.”
“Judy Yuen’s actions are disgraceful, and every officer, member of staff, and volunteer will be disgusted with what she has done. Her actions do them, and their work, a huge disservice.”
“She did not deter or stop the criminal activity that was taking place—she actively facilitated it. That behaviour has no place in Essex Police.”
Nolan hailed the Operation Raptor team’s relentless work in exposing Yuen’s crimes and shutting down the Parsons brothers’ drug network, alongside Essex Police’s Counter Corruption Unit, who swiftly removed Yuen from the force without jeopardising the case.
Force Moves to Seize Criminal Cash
Essex Police confirmed they will now pursue Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) proceedings to recover any assets gained illegally.
This case marks a major win against corruption and organised crime, showing Essex Police’s commitment to holding even their own to account and rebuilding public trust.
