Paramedic, 27, Dies Weeks After Brain Tumour Diagnosis as Tributes Pour In

Heartbreaking tributes have been paid to a young paramedic who died just weeks after being diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour. Megan Lines, 27, described by loved ones as a “source of strength and comfort,” tragically passed away on December 15, 2024.

A Life of Compassion and Service

Megan, from Dereham, was a dedicated paramedic, known for her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to helping others. Her sudden illness and passing have devastated her family, friends, and colleagues in the emergency services.

A memorial website set up in her honour has been flooded with messages of love and admiration, with many describing her as a “beacon of hope and care” in the community.

Funeral and Fundraising Efforts

Megan’s funeral took place at Breckland Crematorium in Norwich last month, where family, friends, and colleagues gathered to celebrate her life. To honour her memory, loved ones have raised almost £4,000 for the British Heart Foundation and the East Anglian Air Ambulance, causes that were close to her heart.

A group of Megan’s friends have also launched a fundraiser called “Moving for Meg”, supporting Brainstrust, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by brain tumours.

Tributes to a “True Inspiration”

Megan’s loved ones have described her as an inspiration and a pillar of strength, always putting others before herself.

One heartfelt tribute read:

“Megan was a true friend, a compassionate paramedic, and a beautiful soul. She touched so many lives in her short time with us. Her kindness, bravery, and selflessness will never be forgotten.”

Colleagues from the ambulance service have also shared memories of her dedication and warmth, with one paramedic writing:

“She was a light in our toughest moments, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Megan made the world a better place, and she will be deeply missed.”

A Legacy of Kindness

As her loved ones continue to honour her memory, the overwhelming support for Megan’s fundraising efforts reflects the impact she had on those around her.

Her story has also raised awareness about the importance of early detection and research into brain tumours, inspiring many to contribute to the cause.

For those wishing to donate in Megan’s memory, contributions can be made to Brainstrust, the British Heart Foundation, and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Megan’s legacy of compassion, service, and kindness will live on in the countless lives she touched.
