A 28-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at police officers following a car chase that ended in a crash in Barking earlier this month.
High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Crash
The incident began at around 8:20 AM on February 8, when officers attempted to stop a vehicle in Barking, but the driver failed to comply, leading to a police pursuit.
The chase ended when the fleeing car crashed near a school on Hulse Avenue.
Suspect Allegedly Pulled Handgun on Police
According to police, the male occupant exited the vehicle and was challenged by officers. However, he is alleged to have “pointed a handgun at them before running off”.
No shots were fired, and the suspect managed to flee the scene.
