A 21-year-old man has been slammed with two counts of attempted murder following a brutal stabbing in Southend that left two people injured. The terrifying attack happened in the early hours of Sunday, 16 February, at a private address on Stadium Road.

Police were first called to Greyhound Way, where they found the male victim with stab wounds. Emergency services rushed him to hospital, where he is now in stable condition. Officers later connected the attack to the Stadium Road property, discovering the injured woman there.
Suspect Charged and Court Date Set
Marlon Buchoon-Katsambe, a local resident of Stadium Road, faces multiple serious charges, including:
- Two counts of attempted murder
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
- Assault by beating
- Two counts of intentional strangulation
Buchoon-Katsambe is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, 17 February 2025.

Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe praised the rapid response of police and medical teams, stating:
“This was a serious incident that rightly warranted a substantial response. Our officers were quickly on the scene, and diligent investigative work has led to these charges.”
