Man Hospitalised After Shocking Acid Attack in Croydon
A man in his 40s is in hospital following a suspected acid attack at a home on Laud Street, Croydon, on Wednesday night.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 10:06 PM on February 19 after the London Ambulance Service alerted the Metropolitan Police. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. Authorities say his injuries are not life-threatening but he will need further medical care.
Police Launch Urgent Probe
The Metropolitan Police have opened an urgent investigation into the attack, with no arrests made so far.
“A man in his 40s was attacked with what appeared to be a corrosive substance. He received treatment at the scene and was later taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made at this stage, and enquiries are ongoing.” – Metropolitan Police spokesperson

“It’s terrifying to hear about something like this happening so close to home,” said Julie Parker, a Laud Street resident. “We just hope the man recovers and that the police find whoever did this.”

Officers are urgently seeking anyone who saw suspicious activity around 10 PM on Wednesday or has information about the attack.
“We urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around 10 PM on Wednesday, or who has any information, to contact us immediately,” the police added.
