Chaos in Dover as “Bad Batch” of Drugs Sends Multiple People to Hospital

A major emergency unfolded this afternoon in Pencester Road, Dover, after a suspected “bad batch” of drugs caused several people to fall ill. Paramedics, police, and fire crews rushed to the scene just before 4 PM following reports of multiple casualties.

Witnesses Describe Sudden Collapses and Panic

Shocked locals watched as people collapsed in the town centre, some slumped over benches or on the pavement. Resident Sarah Allen, 39, said:

“I came out of the doctors’ at around 3:50 PM and saw around 11 paramedic cars, a fire engine, and a police car. There was a man on a stretcher near Caffe Macaris surrounded by medics. Another man on a bench near me started swaying and then slumped over. Helpers rushed him to an ambulance.”

Her husband also witnessed another person being loaded into an ambulance further down the road.

Police Confirm Link to Contaminated Drugs

Kent Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident as potentially connected to a dangerous batch of drugs. A spokesperson warned:

“We are currently attending an incident on Pencester Road following reports of several people falling ill. Initial reports suggest this may be linked to drug use. We urge anyone who may have taken substances in the area to seek medical attention immediately if they feel unwell.”

Emergency Services Swarm the Scene

  • Multiple ambulances and emergency vehicles blocked Pencester Road.
  • Paramedics gave oxygen and provided urgent care on the pavement.
  • A full investigation by Kent Police is underway.

Another witness described the heartbreaking scene: “People slumped on benches and on the ground. The emergency teams were incredible, but it’s shocking to see.”

Health Officials Issue Urgent Warning

Local health authorities have issued warnings about the dangers of unregulated drugs. Anyone experiencing dizziness, confusion, or loss of consciousness after taking drugs in the area is urged to seek help immediately.

Police Appeal for Information

Kent Police are appealing for anyone with information about the source of the contaminated drugs to come forward. They also encourage anyone affected who hasn’t sought medical help to do so now.

Community Left on Edge
