A known gang member was caught red-handed in Wealdstone on Saturday after a quick-footed chase with police. Officers recovered a hefty 12-inch combat-style knife dumped during the pursuit.

Police Hot on Suspect’s Tail

The drama kicked off on Wealdstone High Road as Metropolitan Police officers on routine patrol spotted the suspect. Recognised for gang ties, the man took off, sparking a brisk foot chase. However, the police swiftly closed in and tackled him to the ground.

In the heat of the moment, the suspect tried to ditch a large knife. Thanks to a police dog unit, the weapon was tracked down nearby and seized as evidence.

“On Saturday, officers patrolling Wealdstone High Road successfully apprehended a known gang member. The male was detained following a short foot chase. A 12-inch combat-style knife, discarded by the suspect, was recovered with the help of a police dog. The male was arrested and has been bailed pending further enquiries.”
