Two Jailed for Fatal Hounslow Stabbing, Two More Caught for Cover-Up
Four men have been locked up for a total of 48 and a half years after a brutal knife attack that claimed the life of Tyreece Scott in Hounslow. The arrests came after a tense probe by Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime officers.
Drug Turf War Ends in Murder
Ben Laing, 23, from Feltham, and Durra Abdi, 19, from Acton, were sentenced to 22 years each for the deadly stabbing of 24-year-old Tyreece on January 16, 2024, in Hibernia Road.
- Laing was also found guilty of drug supply.
- Abdi got extra time for carrying a bladed weapon.
The prosecution revealed the murder was sparked by a violent feud over drug-dealing turf.
Two More Busted for Perverting Justice
- Reda Mohamed, 24, from Hounslow, was jailed for four and a half years for trying to cover up the crime.
- Morgan Allen, 29, from Feltham, got a two-year suspended sentence for 18 months for his role in obstructing justice.
Police Pinpoint Suspects with CCTV and Phone Data
Detectives worked non-stop to nab the killers, arresting Laing and Abdi at Stansted Airport as they flew back to the UK on January 19.
CCTV linked Abdi directly to the scene, showing him carrying the same bag found at the crime.
Phone records uncovered damning text messages, web searches, and notes about the attack. Crucially, Abdi’s phone showed searches for “Hounslow stabbing” right after the murder.
Top Cop Warns on Drug Dealing’s Deadly Toll
“Drug dealing is an ugly business which has cost Tyreece his life,” said Detective Inspector Paul Fagence. “This case is a tragic reminder of the devastating impact drugs have on communities.”
“There was no evidence Tyreece knew the attackers, but CCTV, mobile phone data, and ANPR helped us secure a strong case.”
“Our thoughts are with Tyreece’s family and friends. We hope this brings them some peace.”
Met Police Push Back Against Knife Crime and Gangs
The four sentences were handed down at the Old Bailey on January 10, 2025. The case forms part of the Met’s aggressive ‘A New Met for London’ plan, targeting knife crime and drug-related violence head-on.
The public are urged to report any gang or drug activity in their communities to help stop future bloodshed.
