Boy, 16, Shot Dead by Moped Rider in Stockwell – Manhunt Underway

A 16-year-old boy was shot dead in broad daylight by a man dressed as a food delivery driver on a moped in Stockwell, South London, an eyewitness have revealed.

The teenager, who locals described as a “very bright” school pupil, was gunned down on Paradise Road near Stockwell Tube station at around 2:30 PM on Tuesday, March 4.

Eyewitness Account: “The Rider Took Out a Gun and Fired”

A witness reported seeing two boys coming down the stairs from a block of flats before the moped rider pulled out a firearm and opened fire.

The second boy fled the scene, while the shooter sped off on the moped.

The victim, who was well known in the area, was reportedly involved in gangs, according to the witness.

Police Investigation and Search for the Gunman

The Metropolitan Police described the killing as an “enormously shocking incident”, confirming that no arrests have been made.

A large police cordon remains in place, and forensics teams have been seen examining an escalator handrail inside Stockwell Underground Station, indicating a potential escape route used by the suspect.

Community Fear and Reactions

Residents have been left shaken by the brazen nature of the attack, which happened near a primary school while children were playing outside.

A young woman living nearby said:
“This area is not safe at night. There are a lot of teenage boys causing trouble. They hang around, play around with the cops—things like playing with fireworks and running from the police. But it can get serious. Someone I know got stabbed last year.”

She added: “The attackers had no shame—there is a primary school next door.”

MP and Mayor of London React

Florence Eshalomi, Labour MP for Vauxhall and Camberwell Green, described the shooting as a “shock to the system”:

“Stockwell is a vibrant, diverse, close-knit community. We are going to make sure that there is a visible police presence to reassure people.”

“This is a sad, wasted life; this boy could have had so much potential. His future has been robbed. The family and community will continue to grieve—you can never get over this shock.”

“I urge anyone with information to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. There is no honour in staying silent.”
