A woman in Canary Wharf was reunited with her belongings after members of the public intervened to stop an alleged bag snatcher on Saturday, March 8.

Attempted Robbery Thwarted

Police were called at 10:23 am to reports of a theft at Millharbour, E14. The victim alleged her handbag, which contained her phone and wallet, had been stolen.

However, bystanders quickly stepped in, detaining the suspect until Metropolitan Police officers arrived.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene for attempted robbery and remains in police custody for questioning.
