Talbot Green, March 15, 2025 — Five people have been charged in connection with the murder of Joanne Penney, who was fatally shot in Talbot Green last weekend.
Joanne Penney, 40, died on Sunday, March 9, after being shot at a property on Llys Illtyd. Her tragic death has sparked a major police investigation, with detectives working around the clock to piece together the events that led to the fatal incident.
Murder and Organised Crime Charges
South Wales Police confirmed today that two women and three men have been charged in relation to the case. They are due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday, March 15).
The individuals charged are:
- Marcus Huntley, 20, from St Mellons, Cardiff – charged with murder
- Melissa Quailey-Dashper, 39, from Leicester – charged with murder
- Kristina Ginova, 21, from Oadby, Leicestershire – charged with assisting an offender
- Joshua Gordon, 27, from Oadby, Leicestershire – charged with murder
- Tony Porter, 68, from Braunstone Town, Leicestershire – charged with murder and participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group
Further Arrest Made
Detectives also confirmed that a sixth person, a 32-year-old man, was arrested in the Suffolk area on Friday evening (March 14) in connection with the investigation. He remains in custody.

Detective Chief Superintendent Ceri Hughes said the inquiry remains active and urged the public to come forward with any information, no matter how small:
“Our team of detectives and specialist staff are continuing to piece together the circumstances behind Joanne’s tragic death and I would still urge anyone who has information, either about her death or what happened at the property in Llys Illtyd on Sunday evening, to come forward – the smallest piece of information could be of vital importance.”
