Two Charged in Connection with Swale Drug Supply Investigation

Two men have been charged following a police investigation into the supply of illegal drugs in the Swale area.

Kent Police detectives launched an inquiry in November 2024, after identifying a mobile phone number believed to be linked to drug activity and used to contact known drug users in the area.

The phone number was allegedly associated with a man connected to an address in Faversham, prompting officers to carry out a warranted search.

Warrant Leads to Arrests and Seizures

On Wednesday, 19 March 2025, officers executed a warrant at a property in Faversham, where a man was detained at the scene. A search of the premises led to the recovery of cocaine, cannabis, a zombie-style knife, and a significant amount of cash suspected to be linked to criminal activity.

A second suspect was arrested shortly afterwards in Sittingbourne following further enquiries.

Suspects Charged

On Thursday, 20 March, two men were formally charged in connection with the investigation:

  • Alfie Cowan, 21, was charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs.
  • Oliver Taylor, 28, was charged with possession of a prohibited knife and possession of criminal property.

Both men are from Brickfield Mews, Faversham, and appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. They have been bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 18 April 2025.

Ongoing Efforts to Tackle Drug Crime

Kent Police said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply networks and protect communities from the harms associated with illegal drug use and violent crime.

A spokesperson added:

“We remain committed to taking robust action against those involved in drug-related crime and bringing offenders before the courts.”

Anyone with information about drug-related crime in the Swale area is urged to contact Kent Police on 101, or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
