Stephen Lawrence’s Father Demands Killer Names Names as Parole Hearing Nears

Killer Admits Partial Guilt After 30 Years

Neville Lawrence, father of murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence, has urged one of his son’s killers to spill the names of the others involved in the brutal racist attack that rocked Britain more than three decades ago.

David Norris, one of only two men convicted for the 1993 murder, is now set to face his first public parole hearing. Reports suggest Norris has for the first time accepted some responsibility for the shocking crime, marking a shift from years of denial.

Stephen Murdered in Racist Attack

Stephen, just 18, was stabbed in a brutal, unprovoked racist attack by a gang of white youths in Eltham, south-east London. The killing sparked nationwide outrage. Yet, despite fierce public pressure, only Norris and Gary Dobson were ever jailed. Both were locked up for life in 2012 after a breakthrough trial relying on fresh forensic evidence.

Norris, now 48, serves a minimum sentence of 14 years and three months. Until now he denied involvement. But parole board notes reveal he claims he was at the scene and punched Stephen, though denies wielding the fatal knife.

Father Demands Truth and Justice

“This man has always denied having anything to do with my son’s murder, but now 32 years on, as he tries to get out of jail, he admits some guilt,” said Neville Lawrence. “If he really wants to tell the truth, he should name the others who helped kill my son.”

Lawrence added: “I hope detectives have grilled him on this new info. If not, I want to know why.”

He also expects an apology from Norris for the agony caused. Neville has submitted a victim impact statement for the upcoming parole hearing and insisted prisoners should show real remorse.

“These people have taken 32 years of my life,” he said.

Long-Standing Failures and Fresh Pressure

The Metropolitan Police’s original investigation was widely condemned for bungling and racism, as revealed by the landmark Macpherson Report. To date, no other gang members have faced justice.

With Norris’s public parole hearing now confirmed, Neville Lawrence’s call adds fresh pressure on authorities to reopen the case and nail all those involved in this infamous racist murder.
