Predator Caught After Shocking Park Assault

Naresh Kumar, 50, was caught red-handed sexually assaulting a girl in Kempston’s Addison Howard Park on 26 August. The twisted attack only stopped when a couple walking their dog spotted the scene and shone a torch, spooking Kumar and allowing the girl to escape.

Hero Dog Walkers Helped Nab Offender

Thanks to quick thinking by the dog walkers, the victim got away and police launched a thorough investigation. Bedfordshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) team used CCTV footage and phone data to track down Kumar, who lives locally in Manor Close, Kempston.

14 Years Behind Bars – Deportation to Follow

Kumar was found guilty of six separate sexual offences at Luton Crown Court on Friday 21 March. The judge handed him a hefty 14-year prison sentence. Once he serves time, Kumar will face deportation.
