18-Year-Old Woman Jailed for Attempted Murder Plot in Brighton

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, October 10, 2020, George, then 18, was picked up by her victim in a van. They made a quick stop to collect two shopping bags.

Chilling Fight in Selsfield Drive

Driving through Brighton, George suddenly insisted they visit a park. She grabbed the steering wheel multiple times before the van came to a halt on Selsfield Drive.

There, she pulled out a knife and attacked a 23-year-old man, biting his finger down to the bone in a brutal fight on the street.

Police Nab Woman with Murder Kit and ‘To-Do List’

Thankfully, the victim and a member of the public called the police, who arrived quickly to detain George. Officers found the shopping bags stuffed with sinister items: protective clothing, bleach, duct tape, and a Stanley knife — all tied to plans for kidnapping, murder, and covering up the crime.

A search of George’s home uncovered a detailed ‘to-do list’ outlining her chilling plan in full.

‘Cold, Premeditated’ Attack Brings 13.5-Year Jail Sentence

At Lewes Crown Court on April 6, George was convicted of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. She was sentenced to 13.5 years behind bars.

Detective Superintendent Jon Hull said: “This was a cold, premeditated plan to kidnap, torture and murder an innocent man, with clear steps to then cover-up the crime.

“I am in no doubt that George would have followed through with her hugely disturbing ‘to-do list’ were it not for the victim overpowering her and the prompt response of our officers to bring her into custody.

“I would like to thank the victim for his support in this investigation, the member of the public who called 999, and everyone involved – particularly Detective Paul Thomas who was in charge of the investigation – for helping to take a dangerous individual off the streets.”
