Brighton Drug Kingpin Jailed for 10 Years in Major Crackdown

HECTOR Gang Member Locked Up

Brighton’s Community Investigations Team has struck a heavy blow against organised crime, jailing Seyed Mousavian, 42, after a two-year probe. The Grand Parade resident was found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and sentenced to a decade behind bars at Lewes Crown Court on 23 March.

Inside the HECTOR County Line Operation

The HECTOR gang spread crack cocaine and heroin from big cities to smaller towns using changing phone lines to stay anonymous. Unlike many county lines, HECTOR had senior members operating right here in Sussex, making it easier for police to hit all levels of the gang.

The gang preyed on vulnerable youngsters, using violence and intimidation to force them into street-level dealing. Meanwhile, leaders stayed in the shadows, controlling profits and operations.

Deadly Legacy and Ruthless Control

Investigators uncovered that HECTOR swapped phone numbers four times over four years. Shockingly, these numbers were linked to five individuals who died from drug-related causes between 2018 and 2020.

The conspiracy charge revealed the gang’s ruthless commitment to drug dealing, going far beyond mere possession.

Justice Delivered

“Mousavian is a very devious man who exploited every opportunity within the HECTOR gang,” said Judge HHJ Mooney when passing sentence.

Detective Inspector Dee Wells added: “This significant sentence marks a major victory in a tough, complex investigation into a dangerous Brighton crime gang. It shows our unwavering dedication to disrupting drug supply and protecting our communities.”
