Massive Field Blaze in Calshot Triggers Major Fire Response
A huge fire has erupted in a field in Calshot, sparking an urgent emergency reaction. Crews from five fire stations are battling the blaze right now.
Flames Rip Through 400m by 80m of Gorse and Crops
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service revealed the fire broke out just before 7pm on April 4, 2025. It’s tearing through a large patch of gorse and standing crops measuring around 400 metres by 80 metres.
Five Fire Crews Battle the Inferno
Firefighters from Hardley, Hythe, Beaulieu, Eastleigh, and Ringwood are using a main jet and two hose reels to fight the roaring flames. Multiple calls flooded in to the control room, highlighting the fire’s size and intense smoke.
Local Residents Urged to Stay Safe
Officials warn locals to keep doors and windows shut to avoid thick smoke inhalation. Authorities have also advised the public to steer clear of the area and let emergency teams get on with their job.
“Our crews are working hard to contain and extinguish the fire. We urge anyone in the vicinity to take precautions against the smoke by keeping doors and windows closed,” said a Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson.
