Teen stabbed in shocking bus attack in Eastbourne town centre
Police have launched an urgent appeal after a teenage boy was stabbed during a violent brawl on a bus in Eastbourne.
Knife attack on number 1 bus in the evening rush
The attack happened just before 8pm on Saturday, April 5, aboard the number 1 Stagecoach service on Cornfield Road, near the Co-op. A group of teenage boys targeted the victim, stabbing him during the assault.
Victim treated and released from hospital
Sussex Police confirmed the victim suffered a wound “consistent with a stabbing.” He was rushed to hospital but was discharged soon after as the injury was not life-threatening.
13-year-old arrested over robbery and grievous bodily harm
A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and grievous bodily harm. He is currently on police bail while enquiries continue.
Police up patrols and warn against online speculation
Following the incident, Sussex Police have boosted town centre patrols to reassure the public. Officers are also monitoring social media and warn that spreading rumours could disrupt the investigation.
“We urge anyone who saw the assault or has information to come forward,” said Sussex Police.
