Car Ploughs Into Feltham Shopfront and Bursts Into Flames
Emergency crews scrambled to Hamilton Local on Hamilton Parade, Groveley Road, Feltham, after a car smashed into the shop and caught fire late Wednesday night.
The terrifying crash happened just after 9pm on April 9, sending thick black smoke billowing as the vehicle crashed right through the shop’s front. Shocked locals watched helplessly as the blazing car came to a rest partially inside the store, sparking fears for anyone nearby.
Flames and Smoke Engulf Scene
Footage shows heavy smoke pouring from the wreckage with the car’s rear lights flickering amid debris from the shattered shop entrance. The smash left the storefront badly damaged, along with nearby signage.
The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police rushed to the scene. Firefighters found the vehicle “well alight” on arrival and quickly put out the flames to stop further damage.
Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported. Paramedics checked people for smoke inhalation and shock at the scene.
Police Launch Full Investigation
The Met confirmed an investigation is underway but the cause of the crash remains unclear. Mechanical failure or driver error have not been ruled out. It is still unknown whether the crash was accidental or deliberate.
