In a coordinated emergency response, fire crews were forced to cut the roof off one of the vehicles to free a trapped motorist. The individual was safely extricated and, along with two others, was handed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics.

Partner agencies assisting at the scene included Kent Police, HEMS doctors and Kent Air Ambulance, and National Highways traffic officers. The incident caused significant delays on the M2 coastbound carriageway as emergency services worked to manage traffic and assist casualties.

The road remained closed for several hours while recovery and investigation efforts continued. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

No further information has been released about the condition of those injured. Authorities are urging any witnesses to contact Kent Police.
