Closure Order Granted for Rothbury Walk Estate to Tackle Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour

Police in Haringey have secured a Closure Order for the Rothbury Walk Estate in Northumberland Park, as part of an ongoing effort to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

The order, which came into effect this week, will remain in place until 11:59pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. It grants officers additional powers to target individuals and groups contributing to disorder within the estate.

Enhanced Powers to Protect the Community

A spokesperson for Haringey Police confirmed the closure order was issued to support their mission to build a stronger and safer community.

“This order allows us to take firm action where criminal or anti-social behaviour is impacting residents’ quality of life,” they said.
“We are committed to monitoring the estate closely and taking further enforcement action if necessary.”

Closure orders are legal measures used to restrict access to properties or areas associated with persistent nuisance, often including drug activity, violence, or intimidation.

Community Support and Next Steps

The move has been welcomed by local residents who have long expressed concerns about ongoing disturbances in the area.

Police have assured the public that regular patrols and engagement with residents will continue throughout the duration of the order.

“The work continues,” the spokesperson added. “This is just one of many steps we’re taking to protect communities and restore peace to the area.”

Anyone witnessing suspicious behaviour or breaches of the order is urged to contact Met Police via 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
