Haringey Police Crack Down on Crime with Rothbury Walk Estate Closure

Police have hammered down a Closure Order on Rothbury Walk Estate in Northumberland Park, Haringey. The move aims to smash crime and anti-social behaviour plaguing the neighbourhood.

The order kicked in this week and will hold until 11:59pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. It arms officers with extra powers to target troublemakers and gangs stirring up chaos on the estate.

Boosted Powers to Clean Up the Streets

A Haringey Police spokesperson said the order backs their goal of forging a safer, stronger community.

“This order allows us to take firm action where criminal or anti-social behaviour is impacting residents’ quality of life,” they said. “We are committed to monitoring the estate closely and taking further enforcement action if necessary.”

Closure orders are legal weapons used to shut down trouble hotspots linked to drug dealing, violence, and intimidation.

Local Residents Cheer, Police Promise Vigilance

Residents welcomed the crackdown, fed up with ongoing disturbances. Police vow to keep up regular patrols and stay in close contact with locals while the order is in force.

“The work continues,” the spokesperson added. “This is just one of many steps we’re taking to protect communities and restore peace to the area.”
