Search Continues for Missing Dartford Man, Wayne Parchment

The search for 61-year-old Wayne Parchment from Dartford continues as he remains missing for over a week, prompting renewed appeals from police and search teams.

Wayne was last seen by a relative in the Spital Street area on Thursday, 10 April. The following morning, CCTV footage captured him entering Central Park from Market Street at 9.46am, walking near the park’s bandstand—a key sighting that has since guided search efforts.

Since then, specialist officers have been combing areas across Dartford, including Central Park and Brooklands Lake. Their efforts have been bolstered by the National Police Air Service and Kent Search and Rescue volunteers, who continue to support extensive ground and aerial searches.

Chief Inspector Lee Cheesman said:

“Our last sighting of Wayne was on CCTV a week ago. Our searches will continue over the Bank Holiday weekend, and I am urging local people living close to the park, including the Tree Estate, to check their properties, gardens and outbuildings. Cyclists, dog walkers and others who are out and about in the town and surrounding areas are also asked to remain vigilant.”

Wayne is described as being of mixed race, approximately 6ft tall, bald, with a short grey beard and moustache. He is believed to be wearing black jogging bottoms, a grey top, dark blue jacket, and black shoes. He often wears a lanyard with two keys attached and may walk with a noticeable shuffle.

He is thought to be on foot and is known to frequent areas around Lowfield Street and Princes Road.

Anyone who has seen Wayne or has information that may assist police is urged to call 999 immediately, quoting reference 12-0856.
