A murder investigation is underway in Enfield after a woman was fatally stabbed at a residential property on Ayley Croft over the weekend.
Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at approximately 7:00pm on Saturday, 19 April, where they found a woman suffering from a stab wound. Despite the rapid response from officers and the London Ambulance Service, the victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
She has now been formally identified as 45-year-old Pamela Munro, a local resident. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
In a significant development in the case, police confirmed that on the morning of Monday, 21 April, a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Pamela’s death. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said:
“Investigating officers have worked relentlessly across the weekend to investigate the circumstances around Pamela’s death.
We continue to support her family who are understandably devastated.”
DCI John also appealed for help from the public, especially those who may have been in the Ayley Croft area between 6:30pm and 7:30pm on the evening of the incident. Drivers with dashcam footage are encouraged to come forward.
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, Borough Commander for Enfield, added:
“Our thoughts are with Pamela’s family and the local residents who will have been significantly impacted by her tragic death.
Officers from our Neighbourhood and Specialist Crime teams will remain in the area to support the community and assist with the investigation.”
