A nasty smash brought Biggin Hill to a standstill on Sunday night (April 27). Saltbox Hill was shut both ways at its junction with Oaklands Lane, sparking major disruption just as the evening rush hit.

Police and paramedics arrived shortly after 9.36pm to deal with the collision. The road closure caused traffic chaos, forcing motorists to seek alternative routes while officers managed the aftermath.
Bus 464 Route Hit Hard
Public transport took a hit too, with bus route 464 forced onto a lengthy diversion. Drivers were rerouted via Saltbox Hill at Oaklands Lane, then right onto Oaklands Lane, left onto Norheads Lane, right onto Sunningvale Avenue, before rejoining the usual route. The same detour applied going back.
