Mile End Stabbing: Murder Investigation Launched After Man, 20, Killed

A murder investigation has been launched after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in Pickard Gardens, Mile End yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, 30 April).

Emergency services rushed to the scene at 1:28pm, following reports of a stabbing. Despite the best efforts of paramedics and the London Air Ambulance, the man tragically died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A 16-year-old boy and a 24-year-old woman were also injured during the incident and were taken to hospital. Police are awaiting further updates on their conditions.


Three Arrests Made

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that three people have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing. Investigators believe the victim and suspect were known to each other.

Inspector Chris Couzens said:

We regret to report that a murder investigation is under way following the death of a man in Mile End. Three arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing.”

Scene Secured and Public Appeal

A large police cordon remains in place around William Whiffin Square near the scene. Officers have been seen gathering evidence and conducting door-to-door enquiries.
