Tesco Ram-Raid: Thieves Cut Through Shutters and Smash Window Using Motorbike

A Tesco store was ram-raided overnight after suspects cut through metal shutters and used a motorbike to smash their way through a window.

The incident took place in the early hours of Friday, 10 May 2025, and is believed to have been a targeted burglary. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a group of individuals fleeing the scene shortly after the window was shattered.

According to early information, the suspects cut through the store’s shutters before using a motorbike as a battering ram to breach the front glass of the store. It’s not yet clear what was stolen during the raid, but damage to the storefront was described as “extensive.”

Police Investigation Underway

A police spokesperson confirmed:

“We are investigating a break-in at a Tesco store that occurred overnight. Initial enquiries suggest that entry was gained by forcing the shutters and using a motorbike to smash the front window.”

“Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting forensic work at the scene. No arrests have been made at this stage.”

The area around the store was cordoned off on Friday morning while police carried out investigations.

Local residents or motorists with dashcam footage from the area overnight are being urged to contact police. Anyone with information should call 101, quoting the time and location of the incident, or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
