Three teenagers have pleaded guilty to charges connected to a violent stabbing that left a 15-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries in Northfield, Birmingham, last November.
The incident occurred just before 1 AM on 18 November 2024, near the junction of Frankley Beeches Road and the A38 Bristol Road, where the victim was stabbed in the abdomen. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but has since survived and continues his recovery.
Court Proceedings
At Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday, 20 May, three teenagers admitted involvement in the attack:
- A 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.
- Another 16-year-old and a 17-year-old admitted to violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.
All three will be sentenced at a later date.
Police Response and Operation Sceptre
The case forms part of Operation Sceptre, a nationwide initiative across all 43 police forces in England and Wales, aimed at tackling knife crime and youth violence through intensified policing and community engagement.
“Reducing knife crime is a top priority for the force,” a West Midlands Police spokesperson said. “You’ll have seen even more intensified police action, focused on disrupting serious youth violence, knife crime, and antisocial behaviour.”
