Man Stabbed in Blackburn Town Centre – Police Hunt Fugitive
Police rushed to Walnut Street, Blackburn, just before 4pm on Saturday, April 3, after reports of a stabbing. A man in his 50s suffered multiple serious stab wounds and was taken to hospital. His condition is now stable.
Fugitive Fayaz Waka on the Run
Officers are urgently seeking Fayaz Waka, 22, from Blackburn. Described as Asian, 5ft 9ins tall, bald with a short trimmed beard and slim build, Waka is wanted for questioning in connection with the assault.
Det Sgt Steve Craig, East CID, said: “We have made significant progress with this investigation and now need to speak to Waka. If anyone spots him, do not approach. Call police immediately.”
“If Waka sees this, I urge him to come forward to the nearest police station or contact us straight away.”
Two Others Charged
Last week, Mahtab Hanif, 22, and Ramzan Hanif, 24, both from Goldhey Street, Blackburn, were charged with Section 18 wounding. They appeared at Blackburn Magistrates on Friday and remain in custody.
