M11 Chaos: Southbound Shut After Multi-Car Crash
The M11 southbound between Junction 6 and Junction 4 is CLOSED after a serious multi-vehicle smash. Essex Police are on the scene, dealing with what looks like a nasty collision involving several cars—one even ended up off the road.
Northbound Lanes Also Hit
Two lanes on the northbound side are also blocked, adding to the motorway mayhem. Highways England warns of two-mile tailbacks trapped in the closure. Expect delays well into Monday morning, with the road likely shut until at least 1am.
Official Diversion Route Launched
Highways England advises drivers to follow the Solid Black Circle diversion:
- From Junction 6, leave the M11 and join the M25 anti-clockwise.
- Exit M25 at Junction 26, taking the third exit onto the A121 (Honey Lane).
- Follow A121 for 1.5 miles to the A104 (Epping New Road) junction.
- At the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the A104.
- Continue on A104 for 6 miles to the A406 (Waterworks interchange).
- Take the first exit and travel clockwise on the A406 North Circular to the M11 Redbridge interchange.
Essex Roads Policing are on scene, working hard to clear the chaos. Avoid the area if you can.
