Suspected Thief Arrested Minutes After Porsche Stolen in Tunbridge Wells – UKNIP

A suspected car thief was arrested less than ten minutes after allegedly stealing a Porsche from outside a residential property in Tunbridge Wells, thanks to a rapid response by local police.

Kent Police were called at 2.48am on Saturday, 24 May, after reports that the luxury vehicle had been stolen from an address near St John’s Road. Officers on patrol acted swiftly and tracked the stolen Porsche to Bright Ridge, just a short distance from the scene of the crime.

The car was found with its engine still running and a suspect inside. Upon seeing the officers, the man attempted to flee on foot, sparking a short chase. He was detained moments later.

Stolen Plates Recovered

A search of the Porsche uncovered stolen number plates linked to another vehicle in Tunbridge Wells, adding to the evidence being compiled against the suspect.

The arrested man, aged 25 and from Boston, Lincolnshire, has been bailed with strict conditions pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

Police Statement

A spokesperson for Kent Police confirmed:

“Thanks to the quick response by officers, the vehicle was recovered within minutes and a suspect detained nearby. The car has since been returned to its rightful owner, and investigations remain ongoing.”
