Drug-driver caught in Trowbridge banned for three years
Sniffer cop spots cannabis stench
Daniel Palmer, 29, was caught red-handed on Stallard Street, Trowbridge, last October. A police officer on patrol stopped his Nissan Note and immediately noticed the unmistakable smell of cannabis. A roadside drug wipe test was carried out – and Palmer failed.
More than just weed found
After his arrest, Palmer was taken into custody where officers found a small stash of amphetamine on him. Prosecuted at swindon/" title="Swindon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Swindon Magistrates Court this week, he pleaded guilty to drug driving and possession of a Class B drug.

“Driving under the influence of drugs is one of the fatal four – a major cause of serious injury and fatal crashes,” said PC Paul Brewster of the Roads Policing Unit. “If you suspect drug or drink driving, call us. We’ll act.”
