Young Woman Stabbed to Death in Croydon
A brutal stabbing in Croydon has left a woman in her 20s dead and shocked the local community. Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal attack early this morning on Frith Road.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The Metropolitan Police were called at 9:07am after reports of a stabbing. Ambulance crews and London’s Air Ambulance raced to the scene. Despite their efforts, the young female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 30s suffered minor injuries during the incident. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital under police guard.
Police Reveal Incident Details and Appeal for Witnesses
The attack reportedly started at a nearby residential address before spilling out onto the street. A police cordon is still in place near Frith Road, with officers maintaining a strong presence.
Superintendent Mitch Carr said: “This is a tragic incident where a young woman has lost her life. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. I want to thank members of the public – including a brave teenage boy – who tried to help the victim. We believe this was an isolated incident but understand the concern it will cause locally. Officers are available in the area to speak to anyone with concerns.”
Detectives Lead Forensic Investigation
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the probe. Forensic teams have been seen searching both Frith Road and a nearby home as enquiries continue.
