Deadly Airstrike Hits Gaza School Shelter – At Least Six Killed

A brutal airstrike slammed into a school shelter in Gaza’s al-Maghazi refugee camp, killing at least six innocent people, the United Nations reports. The UN’s Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned the death toll may rise as dozens more are badly injured.

UN Condemns Attack on Refugee Shelter

UNRWA blasted the strike as “outrageous,” condemning the blatant disregard for civilian lives. The agency warned that nowhere is safe in Gaza anymore – not even their own facilities. The school, sheltering around 4,000 displaced Palestinians, was hit during Israel’s ongoing bombardment of the Gaza Strip, deepening the humanitarian crisis.

Israel Orders Evacuation But Airstrikes Continue

Israel claims it has paused many airstrikes to avoid civilian casualties. A senior Israeli official, speaking anonymously, confirmed around 5,000 Hamas targets have been attacked so far. Yet, strikes will persist in southern Gaza, where Israel insists Hamas militants are hiding.

Despite warnings for 1.1 million Palestinians to flee to southern Gaza ahead of a possible ground offensive, deadly attacks hit near Rafah and Khan Younis, killing dozens today.

“There will be consequences for Hamas militants using civilians as shields,” said Israeli military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner. “Israel must protect its own people.”
