Kitchen Blaze Sparks Emergency Call-Out on St Paul’s Avenue
Firefighters raced to a kitchen fire on St Paul’s Avenue this Sunday morning, tackling flames that broke out just before 11am.
Blaze Breaks Out After Items Left on Hob
Kent Fire and Rescue Service scrambled two fire engines to the scene at 10:52am. Crews doused the fire using high-pressure hose reel jets and cleared the smoke with positive pressure ventilation fans.
A spokesperson revealed the blaze started when items were accidentally left on the hob and caught fire. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Fire Chiefs Issue Stark Kitchen Safety Warning
“To reduce the risk of kitchen fires, always keep oven gloves, tea towels and other flammable items at least 50cm away from the hob.
“If a fire breaks out, get out, stay out and call 999.”
