Man Charged Over Eastbourne Break-Ins, Including Sexual Offence Allegation

A 31-year-old man has been charged with burglary, sexual assault, and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence following two break-ins reported in Eastbourne last week.

Sussex Police were called to a property on Royal Parade at around 10.40am on Friday, 4 July, after concerns were raised about an intruder. A young woman at the address is now receiving support from specially trained officers.

The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the investigation later linked the incident to a second reported break-in at another property on Desmond Road earlier that same morning.


Suspect Named and Charged

Mohammad Raza, aged 31 and of no fixed address, has now been formally charged with the following offences:

  • Burglary
  • Sexual assault
  • Trespass with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, 7 July).


Police Statement

Detective Sergeant Jamie Ashford of Sussex Police said:

“This was an unusual report and is part of a complex investigation.

We took these reports extremely seriously, with officers responding rapidly and ensuring a suspect was swiftly arrested.”
