Teen Charged After Two Knives Found in Ilford Stop-and-Search

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon after police found two knives during a stop-and-search on Prior Road, Ilford.

Proactive Patrol Leads to Arrest

At around 4pm on Sunday, 6 July, Metropolitan Police officers on a proactive patrol stopped two teenage boys, aged 14 and 16. During the intelligence-led stop-and-search, officers recovered two knives from the 16-year-old.

14-Year-Old Released Without Charge

The 14-year-old boy was later released without charge. The 16-year-old has now been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
