Man Taken to Major Trauma Centre After Serious Crash on 1 Road

A man is fighting for life after a serious road traffic collision on 1 Road this afternoon. The crash happened just after 12.30pm on Wednesday, 7 August 2025, sparking a huge emergency response.

Two ambulance crews and two solo paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) raced to the scene. “We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority,” a LAS spokesperson said. “Our first paramedic arrived in under four minutes.”

The man’s condition remains unknown, but the quick response signals his injuries are severe.

Traffic Chaos and Bus Disruptions

Brentwood Road is partially blocked both ways near the Cavenham Gardens junction. Expect very slow traffic and long delays all afternoon.

Transport for London (TfL) has rerouted bus services 165 and 294, suspending several stops in both directions:

Westbound (to Romford):

  • Stops between The Drill Roundabout and Brentwood Road are out of service.

Eastbound (towards Gidea Park / Harold Hill):

  • Stops from Romford Station to Salisbury Road are not being served.

Passengers are urged to allow extra travel time and check TfL for live updates before setting off.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Details on how the collision happened or if others were involved are currently unknown. Police have yet to release an official statement. Recovery teams are on site working to clear the scene.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes until the road fully reopens.
